James R. Martin  (1933-2014)

James R. Martin was born in 1933 in Frankfort, Indiana. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1956 and went on to receive his law degree from Indiana University in 1959. He was admitted to practice in Indiana in 1959 and was also admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the U.S. Supreme Court. He was a member of the Howard County and Indiana State Bar Associations, the Indiana Trial Lawyers’ Association and the American Association for Justice. He was a lifetime director of the Indiana Trial Lawyers’ Association.

Mr. Martin began his career in Kokomo, Indiana in 1959 and steadfastly represented injury victims until his passing in 2014. His career spanned from representing victims of the coliseum explosion in the 1960’s to representing families of individuals killed by the negligence of the drivers of semi-tractor trailers in the 2000's.  Mr. Martin's high standards have been passed on to his daughter and parter, Monica Humphrey Vorisek, who continues his legacy of legal representation of the injured.  

Monica Humphrey Vorisek

 

Monica Humphrey Vorisek was born in 1966 in Kokomo, Indiana. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1989 and went on to receive her law degree magna cum laude from Indiana University in 1992. She is admitted to practice in Indiana and Ohio and also before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She is a member of the Howard County and Indiana State Bar Associations and the Indiana Trial Lawyers’ Association, where she is a member of the Board of Directors.

Monica began her legal career in Kokomo, Indiana in 1992 and has continuously represented individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of another. She has handled cases involving automobile, motorcycle and semi-tractor trailer collisions, wrongful death, dog bites, slip and fall, and products liability.  She also handles cases involving business formation and litigation, domestic relations, wills, trusts and estates and eminent domain.  You may contact Monica by phone at 765-453-2777 or email at monicah2797@sbcglobal.net.
